Remembering Wendy's Singapore

Back in May 2015, Wendy’s, a well-known American fast food chain, called it quits here in Singapore after an almost 6-year run. Although the company did not provide an official announcement of their closure, many patrons knew through social media. I visited one of the last outlets back in April 2015 and lets’ take a look back at Wendy’s before its demise.

When it comes to observation decks, the first thing that comes to mind is the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark. However, you need to pay to get access and if it rains, better luck next time. Now, there’s an alternative. It’s air-conditioned, it’s located in the Orchard Road shopping district and it’s free. It’s called Ion Sky and here’s some information that you might need to know about it.

Anatomy of An MRT Open House (VIDEO)

It seems that Singapore's MRT network keeps expanding with the opening of new train lines every year since 2009. When a new train line opens, that means Open Houses will be organised for the public to check out the new train lines. When there are Open Houses, that means fun performances and activities.

Here are some highlights as to what you will expect when you visit MRT Open Houses. What's even more awesome is that they're free and you get to ride on free train rides. Click 'Play' now and don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/frenzeelo for more videos like this.

Footage featured from this video is from the Downtown Line Stage 1 Open House.

Spotted: Abandoned SBS Transit Bus at NTU

Remember my visit to the NTU Heritage Centre which I wrote about previously? While on my way back from the place, I spotted this very unique find, an abandoned SBS Transit bus. Covered with moss, dust, small trees and torn sticker livery, it's definitely something that you don't get to see everyday. As I was curious, I dug up some information about the bus and here's what I found.

Checking Out SMRT's Journey With Us Event @ Bukit Batok Bus Interchange

Some of you may remember the yellow Trans Island public buses which was eventually bought over by SMRT. They were rebranded to SMRT Buses Limited in 2004 and fast forward to 10 years later, they organised two "bus carnivals" called Journey With Us to let the public know more about their bus operations. I took a visit to one of the bus carnivals at Bukit Batok Bus Interchange in November 2014 out of curiosity and I'll be sharing my experience of the time I spent during this event which you can find out more below.

Bukit Timah Railway Station - A Trip Down Memory Lane

On 1st July 2011, if you want to head to Malaysia by train, train services from Tanjong Pagar Railway Station to Woodlands Train Checkpoint via Bukit Timah Railway Station ceased operations. The only way to get to Malaysia by train is by riding the train from Woodlands Train Checkpoint leaving the other two stations disused.

After months of track removal, Bukit Timah Railway Station opened to the public much to the delight of the public while the rest of the trail was turned into a park called the "Rail Corridor". In this article, I'll be giving you a tour around the railway station and my thoughts on it!

Happy 3rd Birthday Frenzeelo!

3 years ago today, I started Frenzeelo as a means to find a way to showcase all the photos and videos that I've taken at various places and events around Singapore. If you don't know, I'm the kind of person who enjoys going out to explore Singapore's places and occupying my time visiting free and affordable events that are fun. Since there's so many photos and videos in my phone's Camera Roll and computer, I told myself why not share them and do a short writeup about them as well? As a result, Frenzeelo was established on 8th January 2012.

It has been quite an experience for me for the past 3 years running Frenzeelo. I taught myself how to edit video, how to write better and how to improve my current design skills all that and at the same time, inspired people to visit the places and events that I've visited and shared. I would say that Frenzeelo is still quite small as of now and I believe 2015 may be the year that I should start taking Frenzeelo to a new level.

Of course, Frenzeelo wouldn't even be around if it weren't for the readers and viewers. Thank you very much for all your support and I promise you, Frenzeelo will be bigger, better and will be packed with more content specially for you. And, I hope that I'll still be able to write a message for Frenzeelo's fourth birthday as well. Here's to another great year for Frenzeelo!

Christmas and New Year in the Singapore City

December is a great time mainly because of two major festive events. There's Christmas on the 25th of December and New Year on 1st of January (fun starts on the 31st of December). December can also be considered the best month of the year simply because of the wide range of Christmas trees, decorations, events, open houses and New Year's preparations. On the last two weeks of December, I decided to roam Singapore's city to check out all the wonderful festivities that don't cost a lot of money. Here's what I found.
